trip to the orchard!

Last weekend we had some friends come into town to go to the orchard with us. We recently moved outside of Lexington and just love the smaller town feel – plus being only a few minutes away from so many different orchards is a fun perk. Ashley and David are currently expecting their second daughter and it is just so fun getting to see her little belly grow each time we get to see them! This week little bit was the size of a butternut squash (just to give some explanation to the photo below) ๐Ÿ™‚ Unfortunately it POURED down rain after we had been there maybe 15 minutes… so we definitely have to make at least one more trip out there. Isn’t fall the best? I’m pretty sure I could spend every day at a pumpkin patch. Hope you guys have a chance to get out to one this month!!

family vacation

Our family got to take a mini-vacation this year to a cabin in TN. My husband and I, while we have high hopes of being so, simply just aren’t the best at hanging out in the woods for a week. I know. We have to work on it. I really think vacations like this must get easier as your kids get older, right? ย (or, are vacations ever easy as a parent?) While it was a little tricky vacationing with littles, we did have a great time and really got some great quality time as a family. I posted earlierย about how my oldest loved following me around with his toy camera. He and I had a great time going on nature walks and taking pictures of all the neat things we found. That was by far my favorite part of this trip. He would probably say his favorite part was playing hide and seek all around the cabin. ๐Ÿ™‚

my mini me

Being a mom is so cool. One of my sons favorite things to do right now is go out and take pictures with me. Next time I’m going to have to put a real roll of film in to see what he captures. ๐Ÿ™‚
